Assembly Member Victor M. Pichardo Endorses Michael Blake for Congress (NY-15)

New York, NY – Today, New York State Assembly Member Victor M. Pichardo
announced his endorsement of Michael Blake to be the next representative of
New York’s 15 th Congressional District.

In a statement, Assembly Member Pichardo said, “I’ve known Mike since my first
year at DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, when he was a senior. In the
two decades since then, I’ve never once doubted his commitment to our
community and his capacity to serve the broader American public. I have seen
him stand up for our immigrant brothers and sisters and be at the forefront of
criminal justice reform in our state. Mike will have an aggressive agenda that
lifts up Latino families in the Bronx that focuses on jobs, education, and
immigrant rights. He will be a model representative in Congress, and I look
forward to supporting him to help him get there.”

As a former staffer for Senator Chuck Schumer, Assembly Member Pichardo understands the importance of electing the right leaders to Congress. During his time in Washington, he worked on some of the most critical issues of our generation, from healthcare to immigration. Now, as a New York State Assembly Member representing an area in the West Bronx with a large Dominican and Black population, he knows as well as anybody in politics the value of coalition-building. I’m honored to have his support and look forward to working with him in the months and years to come. Together, we #BelieveInTheBx.

Pichardo’s support is the latest in a series of endorsements for Blake by both
unions and elected officials, including a slate of 30 federal and New York State
representatives.
