CSA is Local 1 of the American Federation of School Administrators, AFL-CIO.

“The Council of School Supervisors and Administrators is proud to endorse Michael Blake for NY’s 15th Congressional District,” said CSA President Mark Cannizzaro. “He has firmly stood by our union throughout the years, including during our recent contract negotiations with New York City, and as an Assemblyman, he has consistently supported school leaders in the 79th District. Our union has the utmost confidence that he will represent the Bronx with passion and integrity in Washington DC and that he will remain a dedicated advocate for our nation’s public schools, educators, and working families.” CSA serves more than 6,000 current employees in New York City public schools as well as over 10,000 retirees.

The hardworking members of CSA help to keep our public schools running and serving the needs of all children in New York City. I am grateful that these school leaders are with us in our mission to provide the highest quality education for our city’s youth and a dignified, comfortable life for the employees who commit themselves to that goal. Together, we #BelieveInTheBx, and we believe in our children, schools, and administrators.

“I’m encouraged by the incredible outpouring of support for this campaign,” Blake continued. “CSA has added to our momentum as we move toward the primary election in June and work to build a better Bronx.”

The announcement by CSA comes on the heels of endorsements for Blake by District Council 9, the New York City and Vicinity District Council of Carpenters, District Council 37 and Local 372, 1199SEIU, and 32BJ SEIU.
