The Collective PAC Endorses Michael Blake for Congresses (NY-15)

New York, NY – Today, New York State Assemblyman and Congressional candidate in New York’s 15th District, Michael Blake (D-NY) was endorsed by the Collective PAC, one of the largest organizations working to elect African Americans to office. Since 2015, The Collective PAC has successfully helped 53 candidates win in general elections and aims to eliminate African American underrepresentation in elected offices across the country while working towards political equity.

I am honored to receive the Collective PAC’s endorsement of my bid for Congress, alongside Presidential candidates Senator Kamala Harris and Senator Cory Booker, as well as Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) and others,” says Blake, “I am confident that we are all working towards the same goal of moving towards a better America by increasing the number of diverse candidates running for all branches of government.

Assemblyman Blake represents the 79th District of New York. Formerly, he served as an aide in the Obama Administration and currently serves as Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair. In April 2019, Mr. Blake announced his candidacy for New York’s 15th Congressional District for the seat soon to be vacated by House Democrat José E. Serrano. He’s currently running on a bold platform geared towards creating jobs for women and people of color, transforming public housing, significantly improve public education, and reforming criminal justice.

“African Americans are underrepresented throughout all levels of our government,” says Blake, “Today, 52 African Americans serve in our House of Representatives. The Collective PAC is working tirelessly to boost that number to 57, ensuring that the House truly reflects the make-up of the American populace. I am proud to have their support in my efforts to join the next generation of leaders working to move this country forward. I stand with the Collective PAC as they affirm: representation matters.”

Together, we #BelieveInTheBronx

The Collective PAC is working to fix the challenge of African American underrepresentation in elected seats of power throughout our nation. To reach political equity – a place where African American elected officials represent the community’s population statistically – the U.S. would need.

Launched in August of 2016, The Collective PAC has helped 53 candidates win general elections at the local, state and federal level thus far. Through our coordinated PAC, independent expenditure only committee, 501c3 and 501c4 arms, we have raised and bundled over $6,500,000 from over 47,000 individual contributions.
