Transport Workers Union (TWU) Local 100 Endorses Michael Blake for Congress (NY-15)

New York, NY – Local 100 of the Transport Workers Union of America has endorsed New York State Assembly Member Michael Blake to be the next congressional representative of New York’s 15th District.

Earl Phillips, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 100, said in a statement, “We are excited to endorse Michael Blake to be our next Member of Congress in the 15th District for the Bronx. He has continued to step up for TWU Local 100 and our families to ensure that we are respected, valued, and have the advocate we need for the Bronx in Congress. From driving our buses to running our trains, transit workers have always been essential, as is having a congressional representative who will ensure that we have policies, resources and a voice in Washington that stands up for working families. We believe in Michael Blake because he has always believed in transit workers and TWU Local 100.”

It’s an honor to have the endorsement of TWU Local 100. For decades, its members have made incredible sacrifices to keep our city moving—from 9/11 to Hurricane Sandy to the present-day COVID-19 crisis. Transit workers deserve our respect and our admiration. They deserve safe and clean working conditions. They deserve adequate PPE and fair contracts. They deserve a congressional representative who will fight for their interests in Washington. I look forward to being their congressman because together we #BelieveInTheBx and we believe in our New York City transit workers.
